Bishu Chakraborty's Abak Prithibi, the 1959 Uttam Kumar - Sabitri Chatterjee starrer Bengali classic film, is one the few Kolkata Bangla movies whose music was composed by Amal Mukherjee, the youngest brother of Hemanta Mukherjee.

In addition to Uttam-Sabitri, the black-and-white drama's star cast also included Tarun Kumar, Tulsi Chakraborty, Aparna Devi, Deepak Mukherjee, Gangapada Bose, Shyam Laha, Nripati Chatterjee, Ajit Banerjee, Master Tukai and more.
