When asked about how he prepared for this role, the icon said, “This character is of the same age of mine and I could easily gel into it. Also I have met and seen a number of Anglo-Bengali people when I was working as an executive in Kolkata long back. Those observations also helped me to get into the skin of the character. But above all my director and the creative team described the character and script in such a way that I had no problems in getting into it.”

Te3n has been extensively shot in and around Kolkata. On choosing Kolkata as the shooting spot, Amitabh said, “The film was first scheduled to be shot at Goa but we faced a lot of logistical problems there and it was me who insisted that we shoot the film in Kolkata. And after we discussed the prospect of shooting it in Kolkata, we all agreed that the script merges perfectly with the background Kolkata offers.”

Sujjoy Ghosh at this point added, “Me and Ribhu (the director) also hail from Kolkata. So it was very easy for us in the city. We are aware of the details, pros and cons of Kolkata for making the film. So we immediately decided to shoot the movie here.”

On his experience of shooting in Kolkata the Big B said, “It has always been an amazing experience to shoot in Kolkata, The people here understand the process of filmmaking very well and co-operate with the film unit very well. The crowd knows when they may get into the frame or when making noise can hamper the shoot. They helped us in every way to shoot the movie.”

When asked if the transition of technology makes him more comfortable as an actor or is it a challenge for him to adapt with it, Amitabh said, “The advent of technology has made us more comfortable as actors. Even the director and producers are benefiting from it. In earlier days celluloid was the only option we had. It was a very costly affair of re-taking shots. Now as digital cameras are used, we don’t have that problem at all. More over, time is also saved as we can place multiple cameras at a time instead of shooting a scene from one angle.”

It is purely coincidental. I am happy that it has happened this way.”

When asked about his opinion on the scuffle betwwen the Censor board and upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Udta Punjab’, Amitabh said, “I really don’t have much idea about the issues. I have just started learning about it. Whatever the issues are, I personally think that creativity should not be killed.”
