Abanti Bhattacharjee is a talented young vocalist who has been making waves in the North Indian Hindustani Classical music scene.
Abanti, an M.A in Music from Rabindra Bharati University with first class degree in classical vocal music had received the National Scholarship for vocal music sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in the year of 2002.. Her various stage performances had fetched Abanti widespread appreciation and accolades. The most prestigious among them being the revered ‘Girija Devi Puraskar’ 2013 for her wonderful contribution to Hindusthani classical music. "Truly it was an honour receiving the Girija Devi Puraskar from the legendary singer herself," says Abanti.
Abanti’s rare voice quality is a gift of God that emanates the myriad emotions of thumri which follows the Purab Ang Gayaki. Her expressions, sensuousness earthiness and pukar touch her listener’s heart instantly.

Apart from her light classical vocal she is also famous for her old traditional and Ragaprodhan Sangeet. Accompanied by her husband Aurobinda Bhattacharya on the Tabla , the talented singer is determined to tread unchartered territory and take Hindusthani classical music to a new high.
