Kolkata, June 22, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio / Penning Creations) Music for forthcoming Kolkata Bangla movie Apobad (2012) starring leading Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta was released at the The Eye Within Club on June 21. Apobaad is directed by Mrityunjoy Roy and is expected to have a release date of July 13. The film features soulful and melodius music directed by Soumitra Kundu. Well wishers and members of the film unit of Apabad including actors Amitava Bhattacharjee, Raja Chatterjee and Santana Basu were present at the event. Actor Diganta Bagchi (Premer Kahini), part of the star cast of Mrityunjoy’s next film Bhalobasha Emoni Hoy, echoed the sentiment of all present that it was easy and comfortable to work with Mrityunjoy.

Apobad 2012 Bengali Movie Music

Music director Soumitra Kundu has tried to recreate some old-world magic with the songs for the movie. Director Mrityunjoy Roy expressed delight in working again with Rituparna Sengupta.

Apabaad is produced by Sudipta Roy under the banner of Sudipta Enterprise. Sudipta, wife of director Mrityunjoy, was also present on the occasion.

The Apabad film music soundtrack comprises of six situational and beautifully rendered songs. Soumitra is especially fond of the songs E graam-er raja ami by Srijit, and Mone holo tomake dekhe by Kumar Shanu and Priya Bhattacharya. One of the remaining tracks in the OST is a sizzling Bengali item number. Lyrics are by Tapan Bhattacharya.

Shooting for Apabad actually started in 2005. The makers of the Bengali movie deserve credit for reviving and completing the project for the audience to enjoy it on the silver screen.
