Writer-Director Aniket Chattopadhaya Starts Shooting For His 4th Bangla Movie "ROOM NO 103"

Actress Kanchana Moitra

Kolkata, June 4, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) After scoring a Bengali film box-office hat-trick with Cha-E-Chuti (2009), Bye Bye Bangkok (2011) and Goraye Gandogol (2012), senior political observer, news editor and film-maker Aniket Chattopadhaya has gone to floors with his 4th Bengali feature film, enticingly titled "Room No 103".

WBRi followers remember well our wide-ranging conversations with Aniket about Cha E Chuti (which won him a Best Bangla Experimental Film award), Bye Bye Bangkok and Goray Gandogol.

In a recent exclusive interview with the Bengali daily Pratyahik Khobor, Aniket indicated he is moving away from the genre of comedy for his fourth film. Room No. 103 is a mystery drama around incidents in the room at a hotel, with some elements of an action flick.

In that interview, Aniket also revealed that the front-man of Kolkata's famous Nandikar drama troupe, Rudraprasad Sengupta (interview) will appear in Room No. 103 playing himself. Incidentally, Rudraprasad will visit us here over Bangamela 2012 in Washington DC in a few days.

Soumitra Chatterjee plays the manager of the hotel. The cast also includes Priyanka, Ankita Chakraborty, Kanchana Moitra (seen here in the picture above at the premiere of the new Bangla movie "Maya Bazaar"), Jishu Sengupta, Anjana Basu, Rajesh Sharma, Badsha Moitra and others.
