Exclusive Movie Stills from Bengali Movie - Atanu Ghosh's TAKHAN TEYISH (Takhon Teish) 2010

Washington Bangla Radio, May 31, 2010: WBRi spoke with acclaimed Kolkata film-maker yesterday. Atanu is an accomplished and experienced film maker. His first full-length Bengali movie (which came after a long list of documentaries, tele-films and corporate films) Angshumaner Chobi was released in 2009 to great acclaim, and his forthcoming movie "Takhan Teyish" is expected to release around September of 2010.
We will post the entire audio interview with Atanu Ghosh soon after editing is complete. In the meanwhile, Atanu Ghosh shared some great movie stills from Tokhon Teyish for WBRi visitors to enjoy below.
Without giving away too much, Takhan Teish - whose story, like Angshumaner Chobi, is written by Atanu himself - is a fascinating depiction of male emotions. For whatever reason, women have always been portrayed in strong emotional scenes in Indian cinema, and Atanu's film will be different from that perspective. The story revolves around a baby boy who is born to a family all of whose members are spectacularly successful. At the age of 1 and 1/2 years, the baby boy's grand-uncle prophesied the boy will grow up and shine in a field different from the elders or simply run away from his house.
At the age of 23, the boy's life goes through huge changes in a span of 40 hours, with four women contributing to his seismic shift.
The star cast of Takhon Teish includes Jisshu Sengupta, Paoli Dam, Aparajita Ghosh Das, Tanusree Shankar, Rajatabha Dutta, Biplab Chatterjee, Neel Mukherjee, Locket Chatterjee and Indrani Halder and others.
