STAR Jalsha, the entertainment leader in West Bengal, is set to bring alive the epic story of Behula for the Bengali television viewers. Premièring on March 1st, Monday - Friday at 9.30pm, Behula, based on the epic Manasha Mangal, presents a complex tale of Manasha's fight for her just place among the Gods and Goddesses - of Chand Saudagar's unflinching devotion to Shiva where he sacrifices his six sons but does not deviate from his faith in Shiva - of Usha's love for Aniruddha and the tale of being reborn as Behula and Lakhinder and finally Behula's extraordinary story of courage and conviction to bring Lakhinder back from the dead.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Ravish Kumar, Head - Regional Channels, STAR Entertainment Media Pvt. This epic - the first in Bengali television - is being produced by Venkatesh Films. Star Jalsha is proud to acknowledge the path breaking work done by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni in developing this epic for Bengali viewers. Behula is being directed by Soumik Chatterjee and the story is developed from the original Manasha Mangal Kavya by Sahana. Payel De is set to capture the hearts as Behula. Viewers will also be enthralled by the performances of Kaushik Chakraborty (Chand Sadagar), Rupanjana Moitra (Sanaka), Rimjhim Mitra (Devi Manasa) and many more.
