Upama Ghosh recites for Community Radio JU (90.8 Mhz) [WBRI feature]


Upama Ghosh wants to be a teacher.She is pursuing her B.Ed from Shri Shikshayatan College,Kolkata.She wishes to work on the art of recitation in the days to come alongwith her teaching career.

Ever since her school days Upama's life was all about poetry- both reading and writing.The very irst seed of performing the art of recitation was sown by her mother,who had performed in AIR (ALL INDIA RADIO) in her growing years. Her mother used to recite out poems like ‘Lichu Chor’, Sukumar Ray’s ‘Chora’ and other poems from ‘Shohoj Path’ while helping her to get ready in the morning .Her school (South Point High School) also nurtured her in a congenial cultural environment which initiated in her the initial urge to sing and recite.She used to take part in all school programs.She participated in a One-Act Play on ‘Interpretation of Macbeth’ in her college at Bhawanipur Education Society in the Year 2010. In the same year,Upama had undergone a workshop on recitation under the guidance of much noted recitation band ‘Mahul’.She is a member of ‘Surojit O Bondhura Kobita Club’ and contribute her penned-poems there.

Lately, she performed at Jadavpur University Community Radio in its ‘Sanskriti’ program(22mins solo-recitation ) followed by a brief interview in the ‘talk-show’ format.Listen to her recitations recorded and broadcasted on Community Radio JU:
