‘KKR Ka Control Room’ reaches Kolkata’s Bhawanipur College

Kolkata, May 12, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): Keeping its promise of  bringing the cricketing idols closer to its listeners, RED FM along with KKR Captain Gautam Gambhir and other key Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players—Kuldeep Yadav, Veer Pratap Singh, Sheldon Jackson & Johan Botha visited Bhawanipur Education Society College today and participated in a fun filled interaction with the students.

Being the ‘Exclusive Radio Partner’ of KKR, RED FM has created a unique platform—‘KKR ka Control Room’ to execute various fun activities for KKR players and its fans. RED FM RJ Praveen had earlier asked the listeners of Kolkata to send SMS’s to RED FM if they want to see RED FM team in their college. RED FM along with an adorned canter visited various colleges and urged students to take part in various sporting games available on the canter. The students of Bhawanipur Education Society College gave the best performance during the RED FM tour of city colleges and were selected for a royal treat from KKR which included a personal visit and a candid chat by Captain Gautam Gambhir and members of his team.

On the initiative, Ms Nisha Narayanan, COO, RED FM said, “Being an ‘Exclusive Radio Partner’ RED FM is using the IPL as an opportunity to bring KKR players and its fans closer. With this activity we are engaging with the youth which is our core TG. IPL is like a festival in the country and we want to celebrate it with the fans in the best possible way. We hope Kolkata students had a great time meeting with their cricketing idols”. As part of this campaign RED FM has also come up with an activity called ‘RED Canvas’. The Canvas would be travelling around the city for a week after the college activity and people can leave their finger print on the canvas. Gautam Gambhir Foundation will donate Rs. 10 for each finger print, which would go to children rescued by the Hope Foundation to support their education.
Gautam Gambhir has been actively involved in social work through his NGO ‘Gautam Gambhir Foundation’ which works for the betterment of families of the martyrs of armed forces, underprivileged children especially girls and environmental issues.
