Debarun Mukherjee took out time in between attending the guests to have a chat with Washington Bangla Radio. When WBRi asked him about what how would he like to dress up his guests Paoli and Shaheb on an Indian Traditional occasion or ceremony, he said, “I would dress up Paoli in a saree. I will pick deep colours for Paoli and if I ever dress her in a short dress I would suggest a short black dress for her. Shaheb can carry traditional and ethnic wear like Sherwani or jacket very well. So Shaheb is a designer’s delight to design for when it comes on the occasion of traditional dressing.”

Debarun has been appearing in many International Fashion weeks with his collection. When WBRi also asked him how people around the globe look at Kolkata as a fashion centre he said, “Kolkata is very popular as a city around the world but more for culture, food and creative fields. People abroad connect Kolkata more with Tagore, Mother Teresa or Satyajit Ray than with any designer. But those who are into the core of Fashion Industry knows that Kolkata forms the backbone of indian Fashion Industry as it has a great infrastructure which contributes a lot to it.”

Debarun also mentioned that he has recently designed a magnificent Black dress for a top Bollywood actress recently though he did not revealed the name. About his studio he said that his studio is different from being a store and is not opened to everyone. One should make a previous appointment to visit it. The unique ambience and the exclusive range of his collections hints that it is not long that his diary gets filled with appointments .
