Addressing the audience Veena said “I am glad to visit this city and also meet my fans. I am playing a challenging role in the film Zindagi 50-50. I am playing the role of a prostitute named Madhuri. This is a challenging role for me especially because I am always tagged with the terms hot and sexy. I do not feel that I am hot. I am also grateful to get such a role in this stage of my career.” The actress has been doing extensive research on the subject to understand in details the role that she has to portray in the film. “My character is realistic rather than bold” said the actress. The actress prefers shooting in real locations rather than on the sets. The film is essentially a tragedy and does not merely focus on boldness and sex. The actress feels she will be able to capture the minds of the audience with her performance in the film.

The story of the film revolves around Rupa (Supriya Kumari) who is a housewife, Madhuri, a prostitute and Naina (Riya Sen) a struggling actress. Rupa’s husband Birju (Rajan Verma) dreams of having a house. Rupa breaks all limits to fulfill the dream. Madhuri who is a prostitute by profession understands that life should be lived on the basis of needs and not desires. Naina the struggling actress understands that not everyone can be successful in life. The film is a story of special dreams of a common man. The film has a three part narrative. The first part belongs to the sex worker, the second to the auto-rickshaw driver and the third to the struggling junior artist.

When asked Veena smartly said “I have no scenes with her and I don’t know her. Who is she?” Rajan Verma came to her rescue immediately. If this is a publicity stunt, then it is a good one. But if things are sour between the two actresses, it surely shows.
