Born into the musically and culturally rich Guhathakurta family of Kolkata, Shreya has become immensely popular in the World Tagore Music arena and is widely known and admired by listeners in both Bengals as well as Paris, England and all over the United States. Her early musical influences range from her inherent talent for Rabindrasangeet under the esteemed tutelage of Mr. Sudeb Guhathakurta of Dakshinee (Kolkata) to the lessons she received from none other than Tagore music maestro Kanika Bandopadhyay. Shreya has performed and continues to perform with stalwarts in the recitation & music world.

SaReGaMa (erstwhile HMV) has released several CD’s of Shreya: Mon Bhulai Re, Antabiheen Path, Anandadhara, Khanchar Pakhi, Megher Kheya & the latest Timeless Tagore.

Shreya lives in Paris but performs constantly on stage and on television in India and Bangladesh. Shreya performed in Washington DC last October to capacity audience and is being brought back in less than a year by popular demand.
