“The two films are actually a tribute to Rabindrantha Tagore. I made the films to capture the culture of the city and also to highlight on the contributions made by Tagore in the culture of Bengal. Making a period film is very difficult as you need to have the right props for the film. Or else the look will not be authentic and the people will not be able to relate with it. I have tried my best to create the old world charm in both the films and I hope my audience will like it” said the director, Soumya Sarkar.

The story of Sesh Adhyay is based on Tagore’s story Mayadaan. The film is about Haro Kumar babu and his wife Patal. The husband wife has a huge age difference and hence the husband indulges his wife. Patal is casual by nature and does not think twice before speaking out something. They are childless. When Patal adopts a little girl named Kurani, problem starts and the rest of the film shows what happens as a result of this adoption. The cast includes Pulokita Ghosh, Juiee Sarkar, Tuhin Kumar, Sudip Chakraborty, Bhaskar Banerjee and many others. There are six songs in the album. “J rate mor duar guli”, “ogo amar chiro ochena pordeshi”, “Prane khushir tufan uthece”, “Baje korun sur e” all have a old worldly charm to them. Manoj Murali, Purba Mukherjee, Mahua Sen and Susanta Mukherjee have lent their voices to the songs.

The film Monihara is based on the story “Monihara” by Tagore. The film is about a woman named Manimala who loves her ornaments more than anything else in the world. Even when her husband’s business is in a bad state, she declines to give her ornaments to save the business. Fanibhusan, Manimala’s husband leaves for Kolkata and makes some money there. On retuning back, he does not get any news of his wife from anywhere. One night when he is asleep, he hears the sound of someone entering his room. He finds it to be his wife. The hands of a skeleton come out and proceed towards the ornament box. He loses consciousness and the house is declared to be a haunted house.
