Tollywood’s Jeet To Become Surya Sivakumar With Shatru

May 24, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / Pen Men at Work): Ever since the Tamil superhit film Singham won accolades and hit jackpot at the box office, many other filmmakers have tried to cash in on the success of a superb script and acting capabilities in their own regional industry. Tollywood is set to welcome Singham with their superstar Jeet in the lead – as Dibakar Singho, the role which was originally played by Surya Sivakumar. The direction will take place under the acclaimed Raj Chakraborty.

Jeet’s character and look of the film are, however, very close to what Salman Khan had played in Dabangg, including the handle moustache. The story of the film will revolve around a good hearted policeman who keeps violence at bay, solving issues of a small town with rational thinking primarily.

The villain factor in the movie comes in with Supriyo Dutta as he plays the role of Arjun Sarkar, dead bent on making the town and Dibakar’s life a mess. The female lead is set to be played by newcomer Nusrat Jahan. Playing the character of Puja, Nusrat will come face to face with Dibakar when she comes from another city and meets Dibakar, and as expected, falls in love with his charming and down to earth attitude.

The movie is high on the action quotient with a generous dose of romance and drama. Jeet has been quoted as saying that he will be happy if he could do even half of what the Tamil superstar did for Singham.  Interestingly, at the same time that Shatru is being made, Bollywood is also gearing for the same movie’s remake with Ajay Devgn in the lead.
