Yoga teacher sent to judicial custody

Bangalore, May 6 (IBNS) An Indian yoga teacher, who murdered his former Israeli girlfriends and stuffed her body in a refrigerator for about 21 days, has been remanded to 15-day judicial custody.

The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate sent Lokesh Chandra Das to 15-day judicial custody, reports said on Friday.

Das, 35, surrendering himself before the police on Wednesday evening, said 30-year-old Tamar Farha Abraham was intervening in his married life.

Das said he met Abraham at yoga camp in Rishikesh in 2007 and they fell in love. However, he decided to break up with her on Mar 31.

An upset Abraham came to his Gubbalala apartment on the outskirts of Bangalore on Apr 15 and eventually an altercation started between the two.

Das said when his software engineer wife Jyothi intervened in the quarrel, Abraham assaulted her.

Hitting back, Das locked Jyothi and their new-born in a room and hit Abraham with a plastic pipe. Later he strangled her to ensure her death.

He told his wife that Abraham has left the place in a hurry and sent her, along with the child, to his in-laws house, bought a large refrigerator and stuffed Abraham’s body in it.

It was only on Wednesday that, out of guilt, he confessed his crime to Jyothi and later surrendered to the police.

The police have recovered the body from his 11th floor apartment.
