Singer Lagnajita and designer Sarbari Dutta launches Bengali New year Menu at Buddha Bites

Kolkata, April 14, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radiuo): Recently the next gen singer Lagnajita and veteran designer Sarbari Dutta graced Buddha bites restaurant to launch a special Bengali new year menu.

On the occasion Washington Bangla Radio had a brief chat with Lagnajita who has shot to fame for her song ‘Bosonta Ese Geche’ in Srijit Mukherjee block buster Chotuskone. During the chit chat she shared a bit about her life as singer, favourite food and so on.

About her life after the immense success of the above mentioned song she said, “My life has not changed as much. I still ride my scootie to move around. The only change in my life is that I am being interviewed by media now. “
“I am an accidental singer. Though I had taken training in Shastriya Sangeet, I never had the ambition to be a singer. I wanted to be in the corporate sector and even had started my career in corporate. But now I have left my job as I can no more afford to spend eight hours a day in the office while pursuing my singing career. “, said Lagnajita.
Lagnajita also claimed to be a foodie. “I am a foodie. That is why I am here today to launch a food menu cancelling many other things in my schedule.”
“I don’t cook a lot at home though, but when I do I try to experiment on cooking different dishes, mostly western. But if I have a special guest at home I would love to serve a special preparation of Prawn. I love having prawn myself and also like it to serve others.” She declared joyfully.
“The entire Poila Biashakh Menu has been researched and developed keeping in mind the appetite and love for food of the Kolkatakatans”. said Saoli Mazumdar, co-owner of Buyddha Bites.
About the menu on offer, Michael Ho, Executive Chef of Buddha Biutes said, “We are offering delicacies like Crab mea ball in Schewan Sauce, Schezwan Squid, Jumbo prawn in hot garlic sauce, jumbo prawnin butter garlic sauce, BQ pork sausage in sizzler plate, lamb in oriental veggies, pork with oriental veggies duck with chilly plum and so on.”

The special Poila Baishak Menu is on offer till 30th April.
