The name of the music album may strike many listeners odd. But there is a reason behind such a name according to Kalyan Kamal Roy.

Kalyan met with an accident in the year 1988. He was bed ridden for more than a year. It was during that phase he felt like a wounded horse. Horses are usually active animals and meant to go around. When it becomes wounded, it has to remain at the stable. The singer also had similar feelings during his bed ridden state. It was then that he got the company of an acoustic guitar left by one of his closest friends Pritam Dutta and a book of poems by Sumit Chattopadhyay. These two things helped him to overcome his mental trauma.

Kalyan Kamal Roy has his musical base in Hindustani Classical Music. In his teenage years he was influenced by the Western music and felt that he was moving away from his base. He could not relate with the kind of music he was listening to or singing. It was after reading the poems by Naxalite Sumit Chattopadhyay the singer went through a change of heart. Kalyan Kamal Roy made the cover of the album with the horse way back in 1988.

I understand the type of unconventional music that he composes and hence we gel well. It will be apt to say that we understand each other musically”. Monojit Dutta praised Rooh Music Company for their efforts at bringing out new talented musicians and for giving them scope to showcase their talents. They are sensitive towards the artists and also help them immensely.
