My father Mangal Chowdhury was a stage performer and theater director and my mother Gopa Chowdhury is also a stage actress. This background fueled my passion for arts.”

The album "Shonar Thaalaye" has nine Bengali Rabindra Sangeer songs which capture the essence of Tagore’s musical repertoire. The songs in the album include “Aaj Jyotsna rate”, “Taar hat chilo”, “Megh bolece jabo jabo”, “Mone ki didha”, “Modhu gondhe bhora”, “Sedin Dujone”, “Aamar Je Gaan”, “Tomar kache ei bor mangi” and “Tomar shonar thalaye”. Shweta Gupta of Raga Music said “I will not say much about the album as many will feel that I am promoting my company’s product. When initially I heard the concept of the album, I thought it will be different and after the recording I am extremely pleased with the result. The audience will come to know about it after they buy the CD”.

“I was surprised when I was called to attend the music launch as I do not have a musical background. But later I understood that in theater, you have the effect of music. I have heard some of the songs of Arup and I feel that the smooth flow of music and Arup’s deep voice creates the right ambience for each song,” said theatre personality Bivash Chakraborty.
