Washington, DC, April 30, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Nishi is a South Asian Indian-American singer, songwriter, actress & attorney from New York City who performs in Off-Broadway plays & musical theater productions, acts for film & television and sings her original music  throughout NYC in acoustic & full-band shows.

Her most recent feature film, Sid's Paralysis, will be released in late-2011, she just wrapped a starring role as Princess Labam in the Indian fairytale musical 'How Raja's Son Won Princess Labam' & is presently appearing in the play Killing Time and the musical Bar Code.

Nishi (www.nishimusic.com) released her 1st EP in 2006 of original music to rave reviews by international press in Canada, the UK, Japan & the U.S. and has been heavily profiled by the Indian media. She manages to do all this while working full-time as a lawyer with a large law firm in Manhattan. When not acting, singing, or working as an attorney, Nishi writes poetry & fiction, studies dance, works pro bono for women’s & children’s charities & is the founding President of human rights non-profit, The Leading Light Foundation.

Rachel Recordings and JMD Creations in association with Manan Singh Katohara and Soni Sonia present "Are You Ready to Release Me" on Saturday May 14, 2011 to mark the launch of Nishi's single "Release Me". The event at Lounge 'I, The Indian Experience', 1708 L Street Northwest, Washington, DC 2003will also feature a Bollywood dance party with special MC Sofia Samrad. Commencing at 9 PM, the event promises six hours of non-stop entertainment. Nishi will perform "Release Me" live at 10 PM.
