The Director of 'Tere Bin Laden' is Busy Drafting His Second Comedy

Mumbai, April 12, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / Kreation Guru) It has been revealed by the director of the Bollywood Hindi film, ‘Tere Bin Laden’, Abhishek Sharma, that he is now busy about making another film with a satirical theme.

‘Tere bin Laden’ was a hit in 2010. It was written and directed by the debutant film director, Abhishek Sharma, and produced under the banner of Walkwater Media.  It starred Ali Zafar, Seema Bhargava and Masood Akhtar, Piyush Mishra, Rahul Singh who speaks in Arabic in the movie, Sugandha Garg, Barry John and Pradhuman Singh who acted as the poultry farmer.
The movie saw its worldwide release on July 16, 2010. The story is about a young, ambitious TV reporter from Karachi, Pakistan, acted by Ali Zafar, the pop singer of Pakistan, who is desperate to migrate to the US. His visa application to the US gets disapproved and so to be successful in the venture, he concocts a video of Osama bin Laden with the assistance of his look-alike, a poultry farmer, and distributes it on television channels. The satire is about the war on terror by the US along with the truth of 9/11 after-effects the world over.  Abhishek Sharma received nominations for awards by the 6th Apsara Film and TV Producers Guild for best story and best screenplay. Ali Zafar as the best male debut actor and Pradhuman Singh Mall as the best comedian were also nominated for the Zee Cinema Awards 2011.

Abhishek Sharma is an NSD (National School of Drama) graduate, 2001. He says he is a slow worker and so cannot exactly commit as to when the story of the next movie will be ready or who the crew and the cast will be; the movie is still being scripted. It is again a comedy and Abhishek hopes that it is appreciated by the producers. He says that he laughs at certain issues of life instead of getting carried away into the seriousness of the situation, and so does his satirical and humorous film scripts. For this unusual outlook to life, he calls himself cynical. He is very fond of comedies and said that he will continue producing comedy films. According to him, in these difficult times, it is good to have some laughter and he likes people laughing. Abhishek Sharma is a budget conscious director and the movie, ‘Tere bin Laden’, was made on a very low budget but became a great success commercially all across India.
Abhishek Sharma got the idea of ‘Tere bin Laden’ from a remark by his wife. This happened once when he returned home with a scarf around his head. This Sharma did because he was having severe headache. On reaching home, his wife commented that he looked like Osama bin Laden because at that time, he also had a beard. This is when he got thinking about the movie. No one knows yet what has inspired him this time to script a new comedy.
