Top 5, 2011 Hollywood movies to watch out

Hollywood, April 9, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / Kreation Guru) Hollywood has not done so well in 2011. All the same, some movies which it has produced are worth a watch. Here are some of those movies.

Beginners: It is a comedy cum drama and is written and directed by Mike Mills. The stars of the movie are Christopher Plummer, Ewan McGregor, Goran Visnjic and Melanie Laurent. It is to be released on June 3, 2011. Mike Mills has tried to impress on the viewers that any event in one’s lifetime can be fun and can lead to transformation amidst extremely serious phases of life.  The story is about a man (Ewan McGregor), who is shocked to hear of his father’s terminal illness and that he is a gay. He later learnt that his father (Christopher Plummer), lived a married life for 44 years but later exchanged it for a gay relationship. The upheavals bring the father and the son together because of which the son could sincerely love Anna (Melanie Laurent) whom he met after his father’s death.

The Hangover Part 2: This is again a comedy and is written, directed and produced by Todd Phillips. The other writers are Craig Mazin and Scot Armstrong. The cast comprises of Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianiakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha. The story is a sequel of its blockbuster predecessor of 2009 and is about a group of boys, the Wolfpack, who is in Bangkok for an unforgettable wedding. The movie is produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros. It will be released in May 26, 2011.

Take Me Home Tonight: A comedy cum drama, this film is written and directed by Michael Dowse. The cast has Topher Grace, Dan Fogler, Anna Faris and Teresa Palmer. The story is about a group of rowdy college students who have recently graduated and decide to enjoy a night of fun. It is all about young boys and girls who pretend to be rich so as to impress the one they love. The movie is released on March 4, 2011.

Henry’s Crime: A comedy, this film has in the cast Keanu Reeves, James Caan and Vera Farmiga, and is directed by Malcolm Venville. The story has a man (Keanu Reeves) who has plans to rob the same bank he robbed before and has support from his woman friend, Julie (Vera Farmiga). The release date of the movie was April 8, 2011.

Limitless: It is a thriller written by Alan Glynn and Leslie Dixon and directed by Neil Burger. The stars include Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel, Andrew Howard, Tomas Arana, Robert De Niro, Johnny Whitworth, Darren Goldstein, Robert John Burke, Ned Eisenberg, Richard Bekins, T. V. Carpio, Patricia Kalember, Brain Anthony Wilson and Cindy Katz. In the story, a man (Bradley Cooper) happens to ingest a drug with the property of supernatural abilities. As he enjoys the new, great powers, he finds out that the effect of the drug is actually threatening to destroy his life. The movie keeps one glued to the screen.
