Delhi Jazz Festival

New Delhi, April 7, 2011 Washington Bangla Radio / India PRwire) In a first-of-its-kind music festival, some of the world's greatest jazz performers will congregate in Delhi in April for a three-day musical extravaganza. Presented by SEHER in collaboration with ICCR, the three day "Delhi Jazz Festival", featuring nine jazz bands from across the globe, will be held from April 8, 2011 to April 10, 2011 at Nehru Park, New Delhi from 6:30 p.m. onwards daily. The jazz bands are Cesare Picco (Italy), D- Company (India), Be Why (France),Christine Jensen Quintet (Canada), Fractal (India), Jump4Joy (Sweden), Ekkehard Wolk Trio (Germany) Amit Heri Group (India) and Trio AAB + Clandemonium (Scotland)

According to Sanjeev Bhargava, Creative Director, Seher: "Following the success of South Asian Bands Festival year after year, ICCR and Seher have come together yet again to give the people of Delhi a rare treat of brilliant music - the best of International Jazz at the upcoming Delhi Jazz Festival in Delhi. Nehru Park will come alive with the strings and notes of variety of music from countries such as Italy, Canada, Sweden, France, Germany, Scotland - the likes of which has never been experienced before in India. Truly heralding the onset of spring in the air!"

According to Suresh Goel, Director General, ICCR: "Every major city such as Montreal, London, Stockholm and Edinburgh has a world class Jazz Festival that is not just named after the city but almost defines its cultural ethos.
