Bangla Feature Film "RUN" (2011) stars Rahul, Priyanka, Aviraj, Bishwa, Pamela, Arnab, Sinjini, Arpita Baker and more

Calcutta, April 7, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Ashadeep Pictures arranged a special screening of their new Bengali feature film release “RUN” at Indira in south Kolkata on 4th April, 2011.

RUN is based on friendship of three guys - Jeet (Rahul), Riki (Aviraj) and Ghana (Bishwa). Jeet’s girlfriend is Megha (Priyanka) from a nearby locality. Riki is in love with Jeet’s sister Barsha (Pamela).

One day Arpan (Arnab),  an old friend of Jeet, comes to Jeet and informs him regarding his love affair. Arpan is the son of MLA Tilottama ( Arpita Baker) and is in love with Puspita (Sinjini), daughter of ex-MLA Joydeb Mukherjee (Tapas Chakraborty) from the opposition political party. They don’t support the romance affair between their children. Arpan is in mental depression and comes to Jeet for his help. Jeet promised Arpan to do something about his problems with support of Riki and Ghana.

They send Arpan and Puspita to a secret place but they get injured. The police arrest Jeet, charging him of kidnapping.

With this arrest in his background, Jeet finds it difficult to be hired to a government job. Megha’s father, who is always dreaming of a son-in-law in the government service, tells Jeet and Megha to end their relationship.

After an accident, Riki cannot walk without wooden leg and Ghana is unable to hear properly.

In the mean-time, Arpan and Puspita end their relationship and decide to marry candidates identified by their parents.

All three friends become very angry on hearing this and they kidnap Arpan and Puspita and put them together. Then Arpan and Puspita understand their mistake and decide to follow their hearts and get married. Megha’s father now agrees to her marriage with Jeet.

RUN successfully portrays the value of human relationships to it's audience, which is expected to be primarily young men and women of Bengal.

On the flip side, the somewhat lengthy film does not offer much that is new. Rahul's rendition of his dialog is juvenile, and in general, acting performances are short of spectacular. The story-line and the music fail to impress.

We hope to see excellent productions from Ashadeep in future.
