Yash Raj Gives Birth To Y-Films

April 1, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / Pen Men at Work): Everything is for the Gen-X now. Be it films or government. All eyes and hands are focused on serving the youth. And that probably is the reason why Yash Raj Films thought of a new youth wing studio by itself- Y-Films. The studio is headed by Ashish Patil. At the launch, some dhamakedar speech was given by Patil. He said, the studio aims to cater to such a taste of youth that they will re-define the shape and scope of cinema with their works at this studio.

Well, we must say these are some big words for a studio whose debut production is yet to role out! But the unit is sure ready with some works to strike a chord with their target audience! Three films from the studio are already on the anvil – the first of which – “Luv ka The End” will hit theatres in a month’s time. The next two will be Mujhse Fraaanship Karoge (a name in rather bad taste we must say, remind one of Hrithik Roshan starrer – Mujhse Dosti Karoge) and Virus Diwan.

What is new about the studio is also how it aims at promoting its works. We guess the studio plans to use a lot of the medium of internet to promote their films as it is the online world which is the next big place where youth spend time, after their college!
