Mar 3, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Kolkata, India based director Raja Sen is going to floor with a new Bengali film LABORATORY starring Arpita Pal and Bollywood heroine Raveena Tandon, according to this report.
Laboratory is based on Rabindranath Tagore's famous short story of the same name. Very late in his life, Tagore wrote three stories which are entiely different in character and tehnique from his earlier short stories many of which are well-known in English translation. The three stories in this collection, "Sunday", "Last Word" and "Laboratory" have been newly translated and published together in a single volume in English for the first time. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon will debut in Kolkata Bengali movies with Raja Sen's adaptation of Laboratory.
Raja Sen, winner of three national awards in India, has previously directed Krishnakanter Will (2007) [BUY DVD] adapted from the Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay classic, starring Jeet, Soumitra Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Monali Thakur, Dulal Lahiri, Papiya Sen and others.
