"Bridge"--Film by Amit Ranjan Biswas, wins Best Film and Best Actor Award for Soumitro Chatterjee at New York Winter Film Awards

The New York, 6th Annual Winter Film Festival was held from February 23rd to March 4th 2017. The Bengali film "Bridge" by Director Amit Ranjan Biswas has won two major awards at the festival. The Best Film was awarded to Biswas's debut venture "Bridge "  and The Best Actor Award was won by the Veteran Actor Soumitro Chatterjee. The Festival is known for showcasing the work of emerging film makers in all genres from around the world. There were 88 films screened  from 30 countries. The glittering awards ceremony recognized the best and brightest film makers, travelling from countries all over the world. Amit Ranjan Biswas lives in London and was unable to attend the Big Night, the Award was received by Kaajal Mukhopadhya on behalf of the team of "Bridge". The Film is about two strangers, both suffering from immense emotional distress arising out of life's tragedies, wanting to commit suicide, meet on a Bridge over the Ganges. "Bridge" expresses a universal theme and a wider worldview of creating bonds and connections between people through love, compassion and selfless service. "Bridge" truly transcends boundaries and touches the chords and connects to humanity globally.
