Raima Sen unveils philanthropic initiative for underprivileged children

Kolkata, March 25 (Washington Bangla Radio) - Tollywood actress Raima Sen along with Kolkata based fashion designer Pranay Baidya recently launched the philanthropic initiative of  the Kiehl’s , a New York based cosmetic brand which aims  at educating underprivileged children of India. The initiative commenced to mark the fifth anniversary of Keihl’s footprint in India.

Smira Bakshi, Kiehl’s India General Manager, thus elucidated the objectives of the philanthropic initiative : “ Teach For India” is a nationwide movement of outstanding college graduates and young professionals who commit 2 years of their lives to teach full-time in under-resourced schools and who become lifelong leaders working in various sectors towards the pursuit of equity in education. In June 2009, ‘ Teach For India ‘ placed their first cohort of  fellows in low-income municipal and private schools in Pune and Mumbai.”

Raima Sen who looked stunning in a red dress said, “It’s a great feeling to be associated with such an initiative. Providing proper education to the children of our country should be the foremost priority as they are the future of our nation. Though many organisations are coming up with such initiatives, still a lot of work is need to be done for the under privileged children. Such steps as Keihl’s is undertaking , should always be supported.”

“Kiehl’s is known to be associated with different noble endeavours since its inception in 1851. Their initiatives never fail to deliver just as their products which make it such a unique brand. I love visiting their unique New York style stores and services which give a lovely experience every time”, added Raima.

It was also announced that the net profit from the newly launched product of the company - Ultra Facial cream  will go towards the ‘ Teach for India ‘ initiative.
