Dekh Indian Circus, an entertaining metaphor for rural India's struggle to access the supposed economic miracle of the nation, starring Nawazzudin Siddiqui and Tannishtha Chatterjee, presented by Imtiaz Ali, directed by Mangesh Hadawale, produced by Mahaveer Jain, Anil Lad and Chirag Shah, has won 4 national awards at the 60th National Awards Ceremony.
I agreed to be the presenter because Dekh Indian Circus is a film with great cinematic value and would want everyone to watch it. I am proud that the film has been honoured with the National Award and will continue to popularise it as much as I can.
I loved Mangesh’s Tingya. It was an endearing film, all heart and soul. Now I’m looking forward to Dekh Indian Circusand am happy that it won the National Awards.
I am happy that the Government honoured the film with recognition because in the cut-throat world, people see only huge investments. The rest takes a back seat. Through a film like this people will appreciate quality cinema and will get to watch a story that will be remembered for a long time.
I must say that the film has a superb subject, is superbly directed and shot.
As a producer, I’m proud to be a part of this film. The awards are a recognition of the hard work and creative brilliance and the credit goes to Mangesh and producers Anil Lad, Mahaveer Jain and Chirag D Shah for putting their belief and sweat to make this dream come true.”
Mahaveer used to always talk about making films that were different and a class apart and I am so proud of the team.
A fantastic achievement! It’s no mean feat to bag four awards.
