Sandip Ray's Jekhane Bhooter Bhoy Bengali Film DVD Released in Kolkata

Kolkata, March 12, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): The unveiling of the DVD and the VCD of the Bengali film “Jekhane Bhuter Bhoy”, which was loved very much by the audience, took place at Music World. Present at the DVD and VCD launch of the film was director Sandip Ray and actors Abir Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Dwijen Bandhopadyay, Bhaswar, Mousumi Bhattacharya and Subhrajeet.

Paran Bandhopadhyay, who has played the double role of the narrator Tarini Khuro and also a ghost in the film, could not make it to the event  as he was busy with other commitments.

Actress Mousumi Bhattacharya, who played the role of a village girl in the film, looked pretty in the sleeveless orange top and matching long skirt. The actress was extremely happy that the film was releasing on DVD as she will be able to watch the movie at any time of her choice. She also felt that this will give many people who had earlier not watched the film a chance to view the film and enjoy it in the comfort of their homes. The actress had a great learning experience working with Sandip Ray. She feels this experience will help her in her acting career. Her upcoming releases include Gogol which will be released after the Higher Secondary examinations get over. The actress revealed that she is in ongoing talks with director Buddhadeb Dasgupta and she may be acting in his next film co-starring with Nawazuddin Siddiqui titled "Anwar Ki Ascharya Kahani".

Sandip Ray was also present at the launch of the DVD of Jekane Bhooter Bhoye and felt that this will be a good way to reach out to a broader audience. This will be helpful for those audiences who could not go the cinema halls for watching this film. The director has yet not finalized on who will be the next Feluda and he is still searching for the right person who will be able to do justice to the role. His next project will be either one of the stories of Feluda or Professor Shanku. For the time being, the director has no plans of making another film on ghosts.

Saswata Chatterjee seemed extremely happy during the unveiling of the DVD. On been questioned about piracy, he said that the audience will have to be more aware of this aspect. They will have to negate the idea of piracy. It is only then that this problem can be dealt with properly. Or else the problem will persist.

Abir Chatterjee was also present at the launch of the DVD of the film. The actor was glad to be part of this film and he was even more excited at the launch of the DVD. Kanamachi is Abir’s next release and he hopes that people will love him in the off-beat role that he has done in the film.

Jekhane Bhuter Bhoye comprises of three short stories and was quite thrilling though there was no shocking bloodshed or typical ghostly violence in it. It was fairly successful due to the fact that it was a perfect ghost movie which can be watched with the family.
