Actress Raima Sen Falls for Black & White at Kolkata Fashion Designer Ravi Bhalotia's Estri Studio

Kolkata, March 11, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): Apart from being the grand-daughter of living legend Suchitra Sen or daughter of another diva Moon Moon Sen, she has created her own identity in the film industry, both Bollywood and Tollywood.  The very beautiful Bengali actress Raima Sen spared her precious time to promote a fashion designer’s collection for women on the eve of International Women’s Day.

Celebrating International Women’s day, Raima conveyed her message to every woman through WBRi, stating, “I am very proud being a woman. Love yourself, be confident, have faith in yourself and you will definitely rock the world.”

Raima draped herself in a beautiful white chiffon saree with sequin work, decorated with black and pink velvet piping, bringing the lovely essence of spring. The saree was paired with the black velvet blouse with kundan work border and golden and silver line-up.

Raima’s way of draping and carrying the saree, the top knots (though not at the launch), danglers, broad neckline and her smoky eyes seemed to showcase the dazzling beauty of the Bengali woman.

Celebrating the spirit of womanhood Raima launched the Black & White collection of sarees at Indian fashion designer Ravi Bhalotia's studio Estri, considered one of the latest fashion hubs for the contemporary Indian featuring garments like the saree, lehengas and suits.

The Black & White collection comprises of an exclusive range of sarees which give women an array of options for every occasion from casual wearing to party and wedding wear .The collection is based on various fabrics including chiffon, georgettes, khadi, Bengal silk and tussar with stone work, Hand work, Machine work, embroidery, sequin and more.

With the purpose of showcasing the saree as the most dignified and beautiful Indian garment that can make every woman look even more gorgeous, Ertri has been doing well since its inception. Estri started its journey two years ago in the heart of Kolkata on Elgin Road. Raima graced the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of Estri. She is the brand ambassador of the lifestyle boutique.

The bengali beauty is busy shooting for multiples releases this year. In spite of her tight schedule, she was seen patiently choosing ethnic collections from Bhalotia’s creations.

Raima will appear in Bengali movies like Hrid Majhare, Hawa Badal, Shabdo, Ekti Rahashya Galpo and Hason Raja, along with her Bollywood releases I Me aur Main, Sunglass and Sahib Biwi Ghulam. Many more films in the pipeline continue to keep the actress busy.

When asked about her dream director, Raima chose Mani Ratnam and, of course, Rituparno Ghosh, saying, “Ritu da was the person, who brought out my acting talent and utilized in his own way with some substantial characters in his films like Chokher Bali, Antarmahal, Khela, Ar Ekti Premer Galpo, Nouka Dubi, Chitrangada and Sunglass that is yet to be released. Ritu da knows my traits well, and converts my weaknesses into strengths. He is the person whom I believe blindly in, and want to work with him throughout my life. Also if I ever get a chance I would love to act under the directorial guidance of Mani Ratnam”.
