An audio-presentation of Rabindranath Tagore’s short story KABULIWALA: On the surface we are all so different; but most human relationships are surprisingly familiar. Visit BANGLA GOLPO-BENGALI STORIES PODCAST (http://gauravdas.podbean.com
) for more audio presentations of classic stories and novels in bengali.
This is a one of its' kind audio presentation of Kabuliwala. Before the advent of written words, stories were always meant to be told. In modern times, audiobooks are gaining more and more popularity due to their versatility of use. Whether you are commuting to work, or out exercising, audiobooks can be your perfect companions. Audiobooks can also be invaluable for people with faltering vision, senior citizens, busy housewives, and as a language learning tool for university students and kids (Think Bengali learning courses across US universities and a fun way of teaching your kids Bengali).
Bangla audiobooks were extremely rare entities; With the rise of podcasting-or internet broadcasting, the time was ripe for a Bengali literature revolution online. I started BANGLA GOLPO-BENGALI STORIES PODCAST, exactly a year ago, with the intention of bringing to life- the treasure trove of Bengali literature. Each story is accompanied by a sound track, to enhance their inherent appeal (also to gloss over my ineptness as a narrator!!). Over the years, this podcast may prove to be a rallying point for a revival of interest in Bengali literature online, perhaps also turn out to be an online repository of Bangla stories and other literary masterpieces. I hope, you the listener, would look forward to more stories in the future on washington bangla radio, on itunes and on my website at http://gauravdas.podbean.com
