“You’ve Got the Wrong Girl retells the classic romantic saga Abhigyanam Shakuntalam by Kalidasa in a contemporary racy avatar travelling across the cities of Delhi, Jodhpur and Kolkata, with the romance between Dushyant and his lady love set against the throbbing backdrop of Sonagachi, Asia’s biggest red-light district. This story which has been set in contemporary time will see a gender reversal,” said Kundu during the launch.

About the plot the author said “The protagonist of the story is Dushyant Singh Rathore who is in his early 30s and is the author of bestseller ‘Kinda Clichéd’. This is a blockbuster romance novel based on his one night of bliss with a girl whose name he does not know. Under pressure from his obsessive fans to produce a money-spinning sequel, his hit-seeking publisher, his pushy agent and a sceptical journalist ready to expose the true-story angle as a marketing gimmick – he sets off, three years on, to find the elusive girl whom he had promised never to seek out.”

Srijit Mukherjee, Joy Sengupta and Swarup Dutta were seen reading out from the book in the attendance of a number of well-known persons from the entertainment circuit of the city. The issues related to the plot were extensively discussed and views on them were exchanged. All these happened jovially with fun and banter.

I have also just signed up for my first non-fiction tentatively titled ‘Status Single’ by Amaryllis. And started on another fiction titled Rahula, which is going to be a political tragedy.”
