2nd February 2014, Kolkata (Washington Baga Radio): Kyokushin Sports Karate Organization of India organized an one of a kind National Full Contact Karate Championship at Barisha Ekata Sangha grounds. The event started on 31st January and will go on till the 2nd February ending with the gift distribution.
“kyokushin is a form of karate involving standing up full contact with the opponent. This form is deeply rooted in the philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard-training. The competition will be a golden opportunity for budding karate players to showcase their art and skill” said Sensei Supratim Mitra, Director, Kyokushin Sports Karate Organization of India.
The event was graced by Mr Mitsutake Numahate, Deputy Consul General Of Japan, Sri Rajesh Pandey (I.A.S), Sports Secretary, Government Of West Bengal, Mr A.K. Sarkar (I.P.S), ADG Police and Mr Subrata Mitra (I.P.S) D.C (S.W).
Apart from the various fights, there will be demonstrations for the crowd along with dance performances, musical DJ performances as well as a hydraulic light and sound show. This 3 day national championship will see more than 50 judges and 350 participants from across the country.
