Actress Writupriya Sarkar and Director Anunoy Biswas
Kolkata, Feb 28, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): Dekho Re Nayan Mele, an Indian Bangla movie by debutante director Anunoy Biswas was screened on the 24th of February at Gyan Manch in Calcutta. The film focuses on, and offers ideas for addressing, social issues. This is the maiden effort of the director to showcase such issues on the silver screen with his first Bengali feature film.
Actress Writupriya Sarkar chatted with WBRI about her role of RJ Koli in the film. Looking gorgeous in a sleeveless bright blue Anarkali dress, Writupriya talked about how her working with theater productions helped developed her acting skills. She praised her director Anunoy Biswas, describing him as humble and more of a friend on the sets than a director. This helped her and others in the star cast give their best for the film.
Writupriya is pursuing a course in Animation and is also considering some offers she has for acting in Television serials. The Kolkata Bengali movie offers she has received so far did not resonate with her and she has declined them. When asked
whether she would like to work with Anunoy again, the actress said she would do so with pleasure if the opportunity arose.
