Kolkata, Feb 27, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): Aborto, the upcoming Bengali film which will see senior actor-producer Arindam Sil in his directorial debut, had its music released in a star studded evening at Oberoi Grand Hotel in Kolkata in the presence of the entire cast and crew which included Jaya Ehsan, Abir Chatterjee, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Pijush Ganguly and Locket Chatterjee. The music launch turned out to be a grand affair as masterclass musician Bickram Ghosh performed live.

Arindam Sil also works as executive producer and other technical positions in films. When WBRi asked Arindam Sil what gives him so much mental strength to wear so many hats at the same time and to shoulder so much responsibility, he replied, “I have no other job than to work in films. None of the things I do is unrelated to films. So the success of a film is all I look forward to and I can play any role for that. At the end of the day it is a film I am working with, whatever my role may be.”

Though many people think composing music for the film songs is very important, very few understand that background music is equally important for enhancing the quality of a movie.

Talking about composing music for a particular scene of Aborto, Bickram Ghosh said, “There is a sequence in the film where an abortion is being performed. Many different kinds of music can be composed to match the sequence. But I insisted that the sound of a heartbeat should be in the background as an abortion is the end of a heartbeat itself.”

“The sound of the heart beat was recorded by beating on the chest like this”, he added while recreating the sound doing the same.

Ujjaini Mukherjee and Nirmalya Ray also performed a few film songs on stage.

Director Arindam Sil played the perfect host as he thanked every one related to the Indian Bangla movie by name. He said, “There was a party sequence in the film and I needed a lot of people for the shoot. I wanted those who know proper etiquette and the proper way of holding plates and spoons. So I requested my friends to come. They remain very busy with their own commitments and among them some have never stayed out of home after 10 P.M. at night. But they all came together on my request for shooting through a whole night. These kinds of contributions cannot be thanked enough.”
