Kolkata, Feb 27, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): A healthy but tasteful diet is what health conscious actors, sportspersons and also general people crave for. ‘Poto’ the flagship brand of Pailan group dealing with Potato based food products unveiled their low calory food products which has no sugar or fat but rich in taste. A number of such products were launched in a star studded evening.

Tollywood diva Rituparna Sengupta, soccer star and ex-captain of India's national football team Baichung Bhutia, sports minister Madan Mitra,  politician Sadhan Pandey and Pailan group head Apurba Saha were present at the venue to unveil the products.

That sports should be discussed in the presence of the sports minister is but natural. When WBRi asked Madan Mitra if the government is considering patronization of new-age sports like Cyber Gaming and F1 Racing, he said a lot of research is still needed before these games are given official patronization. He also said that India only recently opened its first international F1 race track in the form of Buddha Circuit and hopefully there will be some more. But these are not overnight decisions to be taken. He also added that the State will always try to develop every segment of sports as it is one of the things which keeps young men and women positively motivated and active.

Apurba Saha said at the launch, “‘Poto’ is the highest quality product rated in domestic and international market. For production of our flakes we use organic potatoes of selected edible varieties, not genetically modified, cultivated under strict supervision. They are obtained from the best potato growing regions of West Bengal with characteristics of excellent soil-climate conditions for potatoes cultivation.”

Actress Rituparna Sengupta is a brand ambassador of the product, as is Baichung Bhutia. Rituparna enthralled the audience with a fluid dance performance.

Madan Mitra said on the occasion, “This kind of food products is perfect not only for sports persons and actors whose professions demands they remain fit and slim but also for persons like me who has diabetes. Being a diabetic myself I can understand how much diabetics will love these products. They can now enjoy tasty dishes without harming their health.”

Other popular brand ambassadors of Poto include the dusky hot bong beauty actress Paoli Dam and legendary ex-cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. Both were expected at the event but it turned out Gavaskar was a victim of a delayed flight from Nairobi to Kolkata. Paoli Dam could not be spotted at the event either.

The event ended with some fabulous dance performances.
