"Kaal Madhumas" Bengali Movie Unveiled in Kolkata (Preview): Sudip Sarkar and Rimjhim Gupta Directed by Prabir Roy

Kolkata, Feb 13, 2013 (Washington Bangla Radio): Advik Entertainment is going to venture into Kolkata Bangla movie production with their debut production "Kaal Madhumash". K.N Sharma, head of Advik, told told WBRi at a recent press meet, “I wanted to venture into something new. Though I am not exactly a movie buff myself, I am aware of Bengali films going through a wonderful phase. So it is high time we invested in films and so here I am.”
The Bangla cinema is directed by Prabir Roy and will see the silver-screen debut of Sudip Sarkar, who will appear opposite actress Rimjhim Gupta to lead the star cast.

Rimjhim Gupta said, “I have a very challenging role in the film. The
script gave me the impression that I would get lot of opportunity to
test my acting skills in this film.There is an exciting love affair and
there are many twists too. I think this is going to be a very good movie
with a broad appeal.”
When asked about his excitement on his
big screen debut, actor Sudip Sarkar said, “I was initially very
nervous, wondering how someone as inexperienced as I would deliver a
performance in a full length Bengali feature film. But the director
Prabir Roy, our co-actor Arindam Sil and others were so down to earth
and helpful that I was able to overcome my apprehension.”
Kal Madhumas stars acclaimed actor and producer Arindam Sil in a Pivotal role. He disclosed what drew him to the film: “I know Prabir Roy from the very beginning of my career in films. I now have so many designations beside my name - director, executive director etc - that people do not remember that I am primarily an actor. Few offer me a major acting role these days - I end up with mostly cameos. So when the director offered me such a good role, I did not hesitate to grab it.”
Kaal Madhumaash is based on a novel of the same name by writer Sunil Das. The story of the Indian Bangla movie revolves around a Bengali home-maker lady Swati who is regularly abused by his advocate husband. She falls in love with her neighbor Sanit and elopes with him. But not before Sanit murders a policeman by accident.
With cops in chase, Swati and Sanit embark on a journey of uncertainty. The rest of the plot is about what happens to them.
The star cast of the Tollywood film also includes Saptarshi Ray, Debraj Roy, Ranjini Chatterjee and Neel Roy. The script of the film is written by Ashok Roy.
