WBRi caught up Partha Sarathi Joardar, the director of the Kolkata Bangla movie ‘Masoom’ in a break in the shoot. In a candid chat Partha spoke about the storyline of the film and divulged some interesting facts about the movie.

“My film centers on an innocent teenage couple who grow a very good friendship between them. Belonging to a vital period of their time, this is to say adolescence, just with a beckon of sex, their life changes. Actually I wanted to hit the core area of the education system of West Bengal. There is a very bad tendency amongst the parents that they try to hide things from the eyes of their children instead of explaining those. As a result of that, the curiosity plays an important role behind their sub conscious minds. Sometimes in adolescence, without getting proper explanation and driven by the thoughts at the back of their minds, they commit many mistakes. I want to convey this message to the general audience, teenagers and the educationists as well. Through this film I support that sex education should be introduced in schools for the betterment of the society.”

Actor Akash Chowdhury currently is a student of eleventh standard of a renowned school and is debuting in this film. Shy and introvert in nature, Akash is excited on his first appearance on the silver screen with a good director and feels honoured getting the opportunity of working with ‘Feluda’ Sabyasachi Chakrabarty. “I am very fortunate to work with Sabyasachi Chakrabarty as I grew up reading and watching Feluda series. I was not supposed to act in films as currently I am studying and in future I want to be a Software Engineer,” said the newcomer actor.

While asking about his chemistry with ‘Twinkle’ in the Indian Bangla movie, he said, “She is very supportive as a co-actress and that helped a lot as we had to go through a bunch of intimate scenes in the film according to the demand of the plot. But she, the director, and other actors helped me so much to overcome my nervousness.”

Masoom was earlier titled ‘Ektu Ushnota Ebong’. Due to some reason the director did not disclose to the media, the title was changed to ‘Masoom’.

Masoom is the 15th film directed by Partha Sarathi Joardar.  WBRi was on the floor of the shoot where a police station and lock-up sequence were being shot and some of the cast and crew of the film were at hand.

The film is full of fresh faces. The storyline of the film goes like this: A boy named Sourav, played by Akash Chowdhury dreams of being a very good footballer and wants to play first division football for the country. In the meantime he meets a bubbly Christian girl named Twinkle and falls in love. But all of a sudden something taboo happens which falls heavily on Akash.
