Sydney: Rain halts T20 encounter



Sydney, Feb 1 (IBNS): Rain has stopped the proceedings as Australia scored 131 runs for the loss of two wickets in 14.4 overs against India in the first T20 match, here on Wednesday.

The Australian batsmen were hammering the Indian bowlers when it started to rain on Wednesday.

Australia have lost the wickets of both D Warner (25) and T Birt (17).

The wickets were picked up by V Kumar and R Ashwin. 


MS Wade is batting on 70 runs, he has hit 5 boundaries and 3 six in the match so far.

 India won the toss and elected to field first in this crucial match against Australia where the visitors will try to bounce back after suffering 4-0 loss in the Test series.

Australia is lead by the new T20 captain GJ Bailey in this match.
