Listen to Anupam Roy live at Eso Kichu Kori (EKK) Fundraiser in Calcutta

Calcutta, Feb 27, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Renowned Bengali Singer-Songwriter-Music Director Anupam Roy performed live at a fund-raising event for Eso Kichu Kori on February 26, 2011 at the University Institute Hall in Kolkata at 6:30 PM. The event was sponsored by the popular Television news channel Mahua Bangla Khobor.

Anupam Roy, who also writes, acts on stage and makes films, won the hearts of Bengalees across the world with his songs for Srijit Mukherji's Autograph (2010) - Bneche Thakaar Gaan (বেঁচে থাকার গান) performed by Rupam Islam and the award-winning Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao (আমাকে আমার মত থাকতে দাও ) have become immensely popular. Anupam is the music director for the eagerly anticipated Prasenjit-starrer Cholo Paltai (Bengali, 2011) awaiting release, the soundtrack of which was just released.

ESO KICHU KORI (EKK) (www.ekk.org.in) continues to make real tangible difference in the lives of talented but financially challenged students in Bengal wishing to pursue higher studies. The non-profit organization focuses on providing higher education to academically brilliant students coming from very low-income families. EKK are different from other organizations that focus on enhancing literacy and primary education in the sense they exist to advocate a progressive change in society by creating an opportunity for poor brilliant students to continue their education. EKK wants to help such students utilize their full potential and prepare for careers that would yield a high level of self-fulfillment and ultimately lead to an overall development of society.
