Calcutta, Feb 14, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) On behalf of Washington Bangla Radio , Soumitra Talukdar talks to Suvodeep Mukherjee in an exclusive video interview with entertaining extempore performances.
Suvodeep Mukherjee is basically a singer and music composer . He took his training at his childhood from Chandan Bag and Khagendranath Dutta at Chandannagar . After that he moved to kolkata and started to learn from Adhir Bagchi , Jatileshwar Mukhopadhayay , Abhijit Bandopadhayay ,Kalyan Sen Borat and Pandit Ajay Chakraborty etc.
He started his career as a Trainer in "Srutinandan " , a music school of Pandit Ajay Chakraborty for about ten years .Here he learnt how to train singers of different aspects, like scale , the techniques of voice throwing , modulations etc .
After that he joined as an Incharge Of Voice Training in "Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa" in Zee Bangla . Most of his students are now coming up with a dazzle and getting their positions in Reality Shows, of which a good example is Anik Dhar who stood first in Zee Bangla and other Hindi Shows .
Shuvodeep's first cassette was released from 'Sa Re Ga Ma ' (former HMV ) as a singer where there were compositions from many renowned personalities like Pandit Ajay Chakraborty , Durbadal Chattopadhayay , Kalyan Sen Barat etc and with renowned musicians of Kolkata. He also sang all the songs in the Mega Serial " Sri Ramkrishna " which was a very popular Bengali Serial of Kolkata Doordarshan based on Ramkrishna Paramhansha Dev .
When asked about his future plan , Suvodeep said that he is very much busy with his s ' Music Institution ' ,that is opening shortly.. He also adds that parents are now becoming interested to admit their children in Music Schools . Ten years from now , parents did not want their children to take a profession of a singer rather than that of a doctor or engineer etc . Now they have changed their minds by watching the Reality Shows in TV . Suvodeep also said that he will teach and groom singers in such a way that they would definitely be able to qualify for any performance.
