Calcutta, Feb 3, 2011 - Innocent Indian students are already victims of  US University, they should not be inhumanly behaved by the US Authorities. Law of Land should prevail but also the basic Human Rights of students should not suffer. Sh.Avinash Rai Khanna, MP (Rajya Sabha) Incharge of Human Rights Cell and Sh. Sudhir Aggarwal, National Convener strongly voiced against these violations and atrocities upon Indian students duped by California based Tri Valley University and also submitted a Memorandum to the US Ambassador Mr. Timothy J. Roemer to forward these concerns to Hon’ble President of US and California State Administration.

There are around 1400 Indian students who are duped by an US University, now the university is shut down by the US authorities. The students who have been first duped by the US University are now treated with inhuman behavior by the US authorities, US Police, Immigration officials. Some of the students are forced to wear radio collars  around the ankles. Since the collars are fitted with GPS technology and normally used to follow animals or  criminal on parole. The students are also being arrested and asked to furnish bonds of exorbitant amount which they cannot afford.

Human Rights Cell, Bharatiya Janata Party condemned these atrocities and inhuman treatment given to the Indian Students by the US Administration and Police.

Sh.Sudhir Aggarwal demanded that :

1. The radio collars forced on the students are unwarranted monitors, should be removed immediately and officers who are guilty of this inhuman treatment should punished.

2. The US state department should take lenient view because the students are innocent and are victims of no fault of them. They should be provided legal help free of cost and the students must be treated fairly and reasonably.

3. As the students were not aware of the fact that the university had no registration , they should be provided help in getting the admission in the alternate institutions, so that there desire for better education should not get affected..

4. Report on the investigation and action taken against the promoters of the fraud university should be up dated with the Indian officials and   concerned parties.

Sh.Sudhir Aggarwal also demanded the Government of India should immediately take concrete steps so that not only children of the Country should not be inhumanly behaved but also their dreams of higher education should not  be disturbed.

Leaders of the Cell hoped that their concerns will be conveyed to the concerned officials as stated above and the US Administration will take immediate action in this regard.The protest was lead by eminent people of all walks of life such as      professionals, business-man and social activists.
