Brototi Paul spent her childhood and most of her teen years in Katwa, the sub-divisional town in Burdwan district in West Bengal. She lives in Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh for 18 years now with her family. Her father is the proprietor of a business offering services in Interior Decoration, and her mother is a home maker. Brototi has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Osmania University and is working towards joining the Indian Administrative Services.

Brototi says, “Both of my parents are very strong supporters of Bengali literature. They are the great inspiration for me. Being a child of a poor family at the early stage of my life, I saw my parents fight a lot with many social and financial problems. Even I was a victim of that. Though now my father is a very renowned and established businessman in Hyderabad, I did not forget those days. I always try to express my feelings about the various problems and difficulties of downtrodden people of our society through my writings. I am submitting my writings and recitation to Washington Bangla Radio for the purpose of reaching my feelings to the people. I want to be a good writer and an IAS officer in future. Both of these are the cherished dreams of me and my parents.”

Washington Bangla Radio wishes Brototi all the best. Brototi Paul can be rached by e-mail at rinky.bsr [at]
