The renowned Honolulu Academy of Arts will organize “3rd Annual Bollywood Film Festival” from January 23 to March two.

The films, which will be shown in Academy’s Doris Duke Theatre, will be from various film genres, including family centric romantic comedies, critically acclaimed based on epics, a Shakespearean tragedy, Mumbai noir, socially conscious cinema, and an indie production.

Welcoming this Festival, acclaimed Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Indian cinema was now getting respected internationally, which was long overdue. Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, urged India Government to aggressively promote Indian cinema in world markets.

Launched in 1927, Academy is Hawaii’s (USA) premier art museum, with a collection of over 50,000 works. Dr. Stephen Little is the Director while Lynne Johnson is Chairman Board of Trustees.
