In 1997, Partho Ghosh directed the Bollywood Hindi movie Ghulam-E-Mushtafa [BUY DVD] starring Ravina Tandon, Aruna Irani, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Shivaji Satam, Mohnish Bahl and others.

Thirteen years later, Rehmat Ali (2010) is a Bengali film that Partho Ghosh is adapting from Ghulam-E-Mushtafa. The Bengali version has a star cast of Mithun Chakraborty, Rupa Ganguli, Rajatava Dutta, Mukul Nag, Aviraj, Sangita Nandi and others.

The music director is the great disco music composer Bappi Lahiri, and the Bengali film songs have been performed by Bappi Lahiri, Shaan, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan. The producer is Shree Balaji Mudra Films. The expected release date is Feb 2010.
