The plot revolves around an erotic singer from Arrah, a small town in Bihar. She epitomizes a common feature of the local culture of the region, i.e., Orchestra or naach parties. The female performers of these orchestra parties sing songs replete with double meaning as well as obviously lewd and direct sexual references and innuendoes. These women are admired both as stars and as objects of glamour and desire. They are also looked down and derided by those very audiences as women of loose character or even whores.
In this volatile world Anaarkali is the star performer of her troupe. The feisty Anaarkali knows the ways of the world and is ambitious as well as confident of her success.
Until a fateful day when during a performance Anaarkali gets molested on stage by a very powerful man of the region. What follows is a series of events that causes the conflict between the two to escalate as Anaarkali refuses to compromise. The world around her turns increasingly vicious and misogynist.
Anaarkali flees Aaraah, hoping for a life of safety and anonymity. Just as things seem to settle, her past catches up. And she fights back...
