Peru hit by earthquake, no damage
Lima, Jan 30 (IBNS): An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude hit the coast of central Peru on Monday morning.
According to US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake, which struck at a depth of 39 km (24.4 miles), was around 280 km (173 miles) south-east of Lima, the capital of Peru.
Reports by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) suggest that although there is no serious destruction, power failure has been reported in some areas of Ica, 15 km (9 miles) south-east of epicenter.
At the same time, the local media has reported minor injuries suffered by some people.
