Adnan case: Four people acquitted

Mumbai, Jan 30 (IBNS): The Mumbai Court on Monday acquitted four youngsters accused in the Adnan Patrawala murder case of 2007.
The four people accused in the case- Sujit Nair, Amit Kaushal, Ayush Bhat and Rajeev Dhariya- were acquitted after the prosecution had failed to produce evidence in the court, media reports said on Monday.
The fifth person arrested in connection to the case is tried in a juvenile court as he is a minor.
Sixteen-year-old Adnan was killed in Mumbai on Aug 19, 2007 allegedly by a group that befriended him from a social media site.
Adnan was allegedly kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from his family.
Police had found his body in Navi Mumbai's Palm Beach Road. He was reportedly strangled to death.
The police had charged the accused people with kidnapping, murder, extortion and destruction of evidence.
