SAPTOSUR (2009) Bengali Movie Poster

With music directed by the great Indian Disco music composer Bappi Lahiri, Bangla film Saptosur (2009) was released on Christmas day 2009. Lyrics are penned by Joyprakash Sarkar.

Shaptosur is directed by Shankar Ray, and the credited star cast includes veterans Soumitra Chatterjee, Santu Mukherjee with a newer generation of Tollywood actors Nabin, Barsha, Subrat Dutt, Anuradha Ray, Sandip Ghosh, Mohan Aagashe and others.

Barsha Priyadarshini, also spelt Varsha Priyadarshini, is an Orissa-born actress who appears in Bengali and Oriya movies. She has previously appeared in Swapan Saha's JOR with JEET and GOLMAAL (DVD) with Prosenjit, Priyanka, Jishu,  and Raj Mukherjee's LOVE STORY (DVD) with Angshuman Parashar, Tapas Pal, Kharaj.

Saptosur is billed as a romantic family-drama.

Shankar Roy has delivered box-office successes previously, including Prosenjit-Rachana Banerjee in Criminal (DVD), Anubhav Mohanty-Swastika Mukherjee in Jiban Sathi (DVD) and so on.
