Calcutta, Dec 9, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Bibhu Bhattacharya was selected by Sandip Ray to play Lalmohan Ganguly (Jatayu) in Bengali Feluda movies based on the famous detective crime mystery series novels by Satyajit Ray. Bibhu Bhattacharya thus filled in the vacuum left by Santosh Datta after the two Feluda films made by Satyajit Ray.

Reportedly, after Santosh Dutta died, Satyajit Ray refused to make any more Feluda movies. 

More than three decades later, Bibhu successfully in portrayed the character of Jatayu in his own style. The Bengali movie lover received him very well.
